Surgery for the surgery

I had a dental surgery nearly three years ago, in which I removed three wisdom teeth, I had total anesthesia. Last Monday I went to the dentist, our regular but not the one who made the surgery, I've been having trouble opening one of my jaws, I can eat well and all but sometimes it hurts. Any way, after examining me the doctor really frowned, he asked me if I took a blow to my jaw recently, or if I'm used to grinding on my teeth, I replied no to both questions but I told him about the surgery, he asked me who performed it then kept silent for a minute, then he began to talk. It seems that the surgery doctor dislocated my jaw during the surgery, and from the doctor's reactions it seems serious, and he is a reliable one but extremely edgy, the reason why I went to the other doctor who seemed very organized and courteous but showed me hell after the operation. Anyway, though I told him that the surgery took place years ago, he said that it is like a dislocated shoulder or knee, it hurts from time to time, and I remembered then that a few days before I did grind my teeth hard for a long while, I was upset and wanted to keep it all in. I asked if it could get worse and he replied positively but he told me that we will deal with it peacefully at first, which implies the possibility of surgery, and he gave me pills and ointment and told me to put hot pads over the joint and not to work my jaw as much as possible, then go see him after two weeks. Now I'm taking the treatment and I'm fine but sometimes it hurts a little. I wrote that so I can mention the remark that the doctor told me, he said that it is better to have your teeth pulled out with only local anesthesia, so the patient would open her mouth only as she could and these cases of dislocated joints won't happen, or maybe the professional curtsy prevented him from saying the other doctor, who has a big name, is a quack.
