Egypt declared under Egyptian occupation
An Alexian blogger, whom I think is called Abdel Kareem Nabil, was sentenced today to FOUR YEARS imprisonment, I repeat, FOUR YEARS for blogging material that the Egyptian government considered offensive to Islam!! (LOL) correct me if I'm wrong, but does any of our worldly famous belly dancers wear Higab while entertaining their half blind viewers! Actually sometimes Dina wares a vale, along with barely anything else! And I would also like to know, do they serve Kerfa and Ganzabeel in Egyptian hotel bars these days, cause last I heard they were serving completely un-Islamic Alcohol! And what about the dancers, alcohol and GAMBLING taxes, aren't they acceptable government resources! Was Dina's dancing that spread a heat wave downtown Islamic enough for the government! And talk about non Islamic material in the media, what about Poosy Samir and Rubi and Haifa and Jini and Jad Shewery's video clips, not to mention a long list of unknowns! And on the net, what proof of hypocrisy is there more than leaving open all the graphic sexual sites that have zillions of Egyptian subscribers both customers and "pro's" while imprisoning a blogger for FOUR YEARS for offending Islam and Azhar! I would like to know what have they done to all the European caricaturists who actually insulted the profit with drawings still posted on the internet till now and were viewed by every surfer?! Actually I have almost nothing against some of the above mentioned characters, I watch them and some of them amuse me the same way some of them "amaze" me, it's the constant and brutal attack on serious types of youth that is aggravating, as I wrote in a previous post, they're drugging people with either vulgarity or fanaticism . Till now I haven't figured out what laws allow the government such a verdict, does the net fall under its authority? What are the laws of net publishing other than that of the privacy statements and disclaimers that we agree upon before entering a site or joining a group? Are there different publishing laws for Google blogs than those of Maktoob for example? I haven't heard of any law of such nature that gives this government authority over net publishing. I've heard before about the first blogger that got imprisoned for warning Misr Gadeeda residents about the serial killer taxi driver, how can they do that? The beauty of the net lays in the variety of opinions that it offers, we know both facts and rumors from the internet. Thousands of us Egyptian bloggers consider blogs and sites as a window that carries a breath of fresh air towards us, we are deprived from participating in politics or from choosing a way of life that holds in it something other than the mummified values and hollow point of views we've been living according to in this country for centuries, we are practically suffocating, it is preposterous, how can a nation grow with its pepole unable to think, to choose, to be creative, unable to learn to co-exist not as a herd, but as individuals with different beliefs, may it be Buddhism or gayety or Islam, in a society that is governed by earthly laws which respect the individuality and privacy and freedom of a human being. What will be their next move?! I'm sure many wonder cause this society has decayed already and more and more is falling centuries behind the modern world, just put the whole country in gags and chains and get it over with.

PS: I've just read the cause for Nabeel Kareem's indictment, "defaming the President of Egypt” and “insulting Islam.” In that order. I discussed the last one in full, as for the first accusation, I think it is a step towards issuing "العيب ف الذات الملكية" once more. Any way it's only a proof that most of the Egyptian opposition newspapers are actually nothing but fronts for the government trying to make it seem like there is real democracy in Egypt, why else haven't any of the opposition journalists who write constantly about the president and his son been sentenced to such a harsh punishment?!
